Radio City Rockettes
by Pearl
We visit New York City for our annual Christmas Traditions in the City. First we did all of our favorite things...
Visited FAO Schwartz
where I found the dollhouse there that I'd love to make EJ someday.
Saw the Rockefeller Tree.
Walked through Central Park and visited the Columbus Circle Holiday Market.
And enjoyed the lights in Time Square.
The highlight of our visit was seeing the Rockets perform at Radio City Music Hall. Grandma had been looking forward to taking her grandchildren ever since she first saw them the year of our wedding and at almost two EJ was ready to attend.
The lobby sparkled with a magnificent crystal Christmas tree.
The anticipation of the show had been building all day and EJ was excited for it to begin.
She was in awe when the dancers came on stage and sat perfectly quiet the whole show.
The show exceeded my expectations and I look forward to making this a part of our Christmas traditions in the future.
We enjoyed dinner at an Iranian restaurant
and then picked up some dessert from our favorite Italian patisserie for the drive home.
It was a wonderful day in NYC!

Goodbye Pensacola
by Pearl
In the middle of renting the first and second floor units we oraganized
and packed up all our belongings
so DaddyO could load them into the packrats.
We lived out of boxes
as we made the last minute touch ups to the house.
Then it was just an empty house
and a wonderful feeling as the packrats were finally loaded and on their way to Virginia.
As I like to say, this is not a final goodbye just a see you later to our friends, home, and town of Pensacola. We will miss you but will see you again soon!

Cafe Dress
by Pearl
I always love seeing what fun fabric I will find when visiting A&E. I'm never disappointed.
This cafe fabric was just begging to be made into a dress that EJ could wear on her excursions to Starbucks with DaddyO.
I did corduroy on the outside, cafe fabric on the inside, and then appliqued my favorite coffee pots and cup on the front.
It fit EJ perfectly and just in time to wear out for hot chocolate with her best friend.

Hop Along Christmas Party
by Pearl
As we are getting close to the one week mark of moving, we are having to say more and more goodbyes. Friends from the Hop Along Playgroup have been some of the hardest to leave. We enjoyed one last hurrah with them to celebrate Christmas. EJ enjoyed a little craft time and dance time with her dearest friends.
with her bff
I am thankful for the time we did get to enjoy with this wonderful group and look forward to reconnecting some day in the future!
Gulf Breeze Christmas Parade
by Pearl
We got to enjoy our last parade while here in Pensacola (technically over the bridge in Gulf Breeze) and oh what a perfect parade it was! It is probably a little wrong watching a Christmas parade in 70 degree sunny weather, I would have thought so before moving to FL, but that feeling quickly changed. The parade was the perfect length (1 hr.) the perfect crowd (friendly and spread out) and perfect prizes (beads of course, but also other fun Christmas prizes).
EJ loves parades. She has become an expert at waving, catching, and stuffing. The countless parades are just one more thing we will miss when we leave here. At least EJ has enough beads to last her many years:)

Ever'man's Story Sprouts
by Pearl
We have always loved living a few blocks away from Ever'man Natural Foods for their delicious produce, extensive bulk section, and amazing selection of health products, but I added one more reason I love the store when EJ started attending their Story Sprouts a while back.
EJ always gets excited when we drive into their parking lot. She knows she'll either have a fun shopping experience with mom (which starts with a drink of water at the front of the store) or she'll get to see all her friends at Story Sprouts. I get excited because I know she will have a wonderful time listening to stories, making crafts and sampling healthy snacks with some fabulous friends. I will truly miss this Tuesday morning excursion!

Hockey Night
by Pearl

Having grown up in snowy Minnesota, ice skating and hockey games were a common winter past time. I remember friends coming down from Canada with their hockey teams to compete in local tournaments. It was always fun watching their expert skating and amateur fighting. It is definitely my favorite sport to watch in person.
We were a bit surprised to find when we moved to Pensacola that there was a semi pro hockey team that played in the convention center by us. What fun we have had going to the Ice Flyers games!
