The beauty of living on the east coast is our close proximity to so many wonderful cities. We drove to Manhattan for lunch and a stroll through Central Park on Sunday because we could. No better reason then that!

I found Lansky's, a Jewish deli on 71st and Columbus, online and thought it would be fun to try a new place. I know trying a new place in New York City is not hard to do with at least at least 26,000 eateries in Manhattan alone, but it is difficult if you have your favorites.

Lansky's had a line for their Sunday brunch that wound out the door but since we were just picking up takeout we got right in. We walked a block to enjoy our lunch on a bench along Central Park West.

Every one of their rave reviews were true. Their sandwiches are amazing and I have to admit I'm having a craving for another hot dog.

Then we were ready for a nice long stroll through Central Park. CJ was in the stroller with EJ wheeling along behind.


We stopped at some of our favorite places.



And some new ones.

On our way back to the car we noticed a big building where people were taking pictures At first we thought it was just the beautiful old architecture that caught their eye and took a picture ourselves. But upon checking online we discovered it was The Dakota, John Lennon's apartment and the place he was shot.



The beauty of visiting the city on Sunday is all the free parking. With most parking garages charging at least $20 for the first half hour, you realize how wonderful free parking is!

CJ got a quick changaroo in the car and we were ready for a drive home through the city.



After picking up some bubble tea of course.





Since we didn't stop at EJ's favorite playground in Central Park, and she reminded us of that, we made a quick stop at one at 10th and 47th (just so happens to be called Hell's Kitchen Playground, thought DaddyO would get a kick out of that:). She kept Grandma on her toes playing there but that is another story.



It was a fun excursion to the city and the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
