Matza Cake Recipe
by Pearl
Grandma made the same Matza cake recipe she's made for the past 30 years. It's a recipe that she brought back from Israel and one I have not been able to find online. This recipe is unique in that it uses Halva, a nutty sweet made out of sugar and tahini, in the chocolate sauce.

Matza Cake (Unbaked)
Everyone makes this, it is so simple!
Ingredients
8 matzas
1/2 cup red wine for sprinkling
1 recipe chocolate syrup (below)
Chocolate Syrup
1 cup butter
1/2 cup cocoa
1 cup sugar
100 grams halva
1 T honey
Mix all of the chocolate syrup ingredients over medium heat until the halva has melted and the syrup is smooth. Spread over each piece of matza that has been sprinkled with wine until a tier has been made out of the eight matzas. Top the tier with the remaining melted chocolate. Chill. The cake may be topped with whipped cream. Garnish with glazed cherries or nuts.
