Yet another flower festival! I now understand how each month has a flower dedicated to it. This one celebrated the cheery sunflower. Just a short drive from our house, we headed over with some friends to walk in the field of sunflowers.


We parked in a riverbed and walked to the fields of yellow.


EJ danced between them.


 Baby B wanted to smell them.


 For just 200 yen (less than $2) we could cut three flowers to bring home.


They found the perfect ones.


Like "churippo" and "ajisai" I will always remember the "himawari".
