The Day is Waiting

It just so happened that this lovely book arrived the day I had promised the kiddos we'd pick up a turtle. We could not find one quite as big as the one on the cover but I know CJ likes to dream his little guy will someday be just as rideable. We sat next to the tank and read the story together.

From the title to the ending verse, a sense of adventure is cultivated in young and old minds alike. The whimsical pastel illustrations remind us of all there is to see in the world. The rhyming text gives ease to reading it over and over again.

This book gave words to how I see our days. A blank canvas just waiting to be filled with new and exciting things to discover.

It just so happened that Sophia (the kids vetoed Franklin) was our discovery today.

The kiddos watched their new friend explore the little tank.

Then they got out their crayons and drew what they saw.

The verse at the end of the book is a lovely reminder of how to go out on adventures...with joy and peace.

"You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands."-Isaiah 55:12
