Welcoming Avia and PopPop

We were very excited about Avia and PopPop crossing the Pacific Ocean to spend August with our family.

As every good military child knows, a welcome is never complete without a sign.  EJ was happy to put her artistic skills to use.

We made a day out of picking them up and visited Ushiku Daibutsu, one of the world's tallest statues on our way to the airport.

At the airport we set up chairs outside of immigration and waited.

Then there they were. Baby B was introduced and hugs and kisses were passed around.

After being awake for 20 plus hours I'm sure all they wanted to do was sleep but they were troopers and went along with our ride through the Tokyo Aqualine for dinner and a sunset.

We ended the night watching the Yokohama Firework Festival out our car window on the drive home. I'm sure most of it was a blur, but it was a great way to start our vacation together.
