The Nutcracker Tokyo Ballet

EJ was introduced to the magic of the Nutcracker last year and that magic returned as we watched the Tokyo Ballet's version of the beloved ballet.

We took our pre-performance picture in front of the Christmas tree.EJ is a bit taller and the tree a bit shorter than our last one.

Of course CJ wanted to get his taken as well.

We made the trip into the city with a couple of EJ's friends. They were hand in hand the whole trip

I am very thankful EJ has such great friends.

It was a long ride into the city but lots to see out the windows.

We made a stop in Shinjuku to track down Lumine's Christmas Frozen campaign.

The ballet took place in the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Theater in Ueno Park. We arrived with just enough time for a short walk through the park and drinks.

Such a little lady!

Then it was time for the show.

The orchestra was warming up as we arrived and the lights about to dim as we found our seats. The the curtain went up and we were led on a magical Christmas journey with a Japanese twist. While the music was unchanged it was fun to see how they interpreted the story. The girls sat transfixed through the whole performance.

She had the ride home to digest all she had seen.

 Till next year.
