Bathroom Renovations

A bathroom renovation was at the top of our list when we bought the house. I liked the location (nice and sunny) size (fits all at one time), and layout, but with linoleum floors, cracked tiles, and a Formica counter it needed a major face lift. We later discovered drain issues and evidence of past leaks that cause DaddyO to decide to give it a major overhaul.

Since we only had one bathroom any renovation that rendered it useless meant the kids and I needed to be out of the house. We used this opportunity to visit family out in the Midwest.

DaddyO worked tirelessly removing tile, flooring, bath and radiator.

After removing four tons of concrete...

(the dust was a bugger to clean)

all he was left with were the bones of the bathroom.

He sent me pictures of his progress and there were a couple times when I wondered if he really knew what he was getting himself into. I later found out he questioned himself as well.

When all was said and done new floor joists were inserted, tile laid, wainscot paneling hung, and a marble counter-top installed.

I got the big reveal two weeks later and loved the results. One down and a half to go!
