End of the Line Cafe

yes, the whole meal for $12

The best restaurant discoveries usually seem to come by word of mouth. That was the case with End of the Line Cafe. I don't know how we have lived in Pensacola this long without checking it out but fortunately some veggan friends highly recommended it and we could not agree with them more!

Located less than a mile from our house, we have driven past this blue brick building on our way to Bagelheads numerous times. If only we had known what a superior meal was available through the red door.

The cafe serves 100% veggan meals and uses organic local ingredients when available. It is open Tuesday through Sunday but has two special set meals, Thursday Night Dinner and Sunday Brunch.

Carl and Michele, who are always up for trying something new, joined us for the brunch today. We made our order at the register (cash only, no credit cards), found a table, and caught up while we waited for our meal.

The atmosphere was relaxed and eclectic, the kind of character and charm I enjoy. Sitting at the front table it felt more like the Pacific Northwest than Florida.

The Cumin Corn Chowder was served immediately and EJ absolutely loved it. She started off with a spoon and was drinking it by the end.

The main course (see the menu above) was perfect blend of flavors textures and color. It was obvious the chef knew his ingredients and put some thought into the full meal. The portion size was perfect and it was nice knowing that everything was fresh and healthy.

and a kiss

The chocolate mousse was a satisfyingly sweet end to the meal. Fortunately EJ was more interested in running around the back courtyard with Michele than dessert so I didn't have to share this time.

If we had a rating system this would get two enthusiastic thumbs up. Since the meals change each week, it will be a fun to see what the chef creates in the future (you can get a sneak peek here). I wish we had discovered End of the Line sooner but at least we have a few more months of Sunday brunches to enjoy!
