The Nutcracker Ballet

california ballet company
EJ attended her first Nutcracker ballet performed by the California Ballet company. It was a special night out with mom and Grandma. We dressed up in our red and black for a night downtown.

We saw some pretty trees on our walk in.

And were greeted by Lollipops at the door.

EJ was giddy as we waited for the curtain to rise.

The orchestra started tuning, then the lights dimmed, and we were treated to a couple hours of magical dance.

It only seemed fitting to end the night introducing Grandma and EJ to the best dessert cafe in the world (I dare you to find a better) Extraordinary Desserts.

It became a favorite of DaddyO's and mine when we lived in San Diego eight years ago and hasn't changed a bit. EJ was equally as impressed.

Their desserts are a work of art.

They taste just as good as they look. We brought a tart and two slices of cake home to share.

EJ ended her special night falling asleep in front of the fireplace while reading with DaddyO.

I'm sure sugar plum fairies will be dancing around in her dreams.
